AllSync 4 Documentation ➝ Instructions

Data Backup to OneDrive

This guide shows you step by step how to connect your OneDrive cloud storage as a network drive with a drive letter so that AllSync can directly access your data.

1. OneDrive Login (Determine CID)

To connect your OneDrive cloud storage as a network drive, you need your unique user code (CID).
Here's how to find it:
  1. Open the OneDrive website and log in
  2. Look for the &cid= parameter in your browser's address bar.
  3. Copy the value that appears after the equals sign (=) to the clipboard.
    Example: https://onedrive.live.com/?id=root&cid=284E37735DDA4ADA
If the parameter is not visible in the address bar, you can alternatively find it in the page source:
  1. Open the page source (e.g., right-click → "View page source").
  2. Search for the entry userHexCid.
  3. Copy the value to the clipboard.
    Example: "userHexCid":"284E37735DDA4ADA"

2. Connect Network Drive to OneDrive

  1. Open Windows Explorer and right-click on Network.
  2. Select Map network drive... from the context menu.
  3. Enter the following address in the Folder field and append your previously copied CID code directly at the end: https://d.docs.live.net/284E37735DDA4ADA
  4. Enable the option Reconnect at logon.
  5. Enable the option Connect using different credentials.
  6. Click Finish.
  7. Enter your OneDrive login credentials to connect the network drive.

3. Important Note

When copying files or folders to OneDrive storage, OneDrive automatically sets the modification date to the server's current date. This behavior is defined by Microsoft and cannot be changed.

4. Completion

You can now use the newly connected network drive in AllSync for your data backup.
