Verify if the content of two folders is equal

The following instructions explain which settings are needed in the Profile Properties to compare the content of two folders. This enables to make sure the content of these two folders is completely the same.

1. Profile

Create a new profile. If the Profile Assistant opens, exit it by clicking on Cancel.

2. Copy Mode

Select User-defined copy mode.

3. Copy rules

In the left menu select Copy Rules. Enable the option Overwrite file if the contents of both files are different at Rules for Overwriting Files.
In the left menu below Copy Rules, select Delete. Enable the option Delete items at destination which are not present at source.

4. Source and destination folders

In the left menu select Folders. In the left and right folder list add the folder containing the data to be compared.

5. Saving your settings

You have now completed all the requisite settings. Conclude by clicking on OK.

6. Verify the folders

Now create a copy preview of the profile. At the menu bar above the copy preview click on Remove and select the command Remove Identical Files and Folders Without Any Actions. Now the report will give you an overview about all files and folders that are not identical.
